Battle Buddies — Privacy Policy

Battle Buddies is designed so that I (the developer) never see your data. There is no server, no analytics service, and no account system operated by me. This app-specific policy supplements my general privacy policy and takes precedence for Battle Buddies where they differ.

What the App Reads

• ›Health data (with your permission): workouts, steps, stand time, mindful minutes, and sleep — read on your device, only to award XP to your character. The app never writes to Health in normal use.
• ›Manual activity logs you enter by hand.

Where Your Data Lives

On your devices, and in your private iCloud database (synced by Apple's CloudKit under your Apple ID). Apple's iCloud terms apply; I have no access to it. Raw health data never leaves your device — only derived XP awards and your character's stats are stored and synced.

What Buddies Can See

When you connect with a buddy via an invite link, a shared zone in iCloud holds: your character summary (name, sprite, level, streak, attribute XP totals, recent-week XP total), nudges, duels, and battle records between the two of you. Buddies never see raw health data, individual activities, or anything about your other buddies. Removing a buddy deletes the shared zone.

Notifications

All notifications are generated on your device. Silent CloudKit pushes wake the app to sync; anything visible is composed locally and can be disabled per category in Settings.

Third-Party Services

Battle Buddies does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services. The only service involved is Apple's iCloud/CloudKit, under your own Apple ID.

Deleting Your Data

Settings → Account → Delete Buddy & All Data removes your character, activity history, buddy connections (including shared zones), and the synced copy in your iCloud database. Health data is managed by iOS and is never stored by the app.

Children's Privacy

Battle Buddies does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes in the future, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised "last updated" date.
